Reporting a calculation that looks wrong
The quickest way to get a fix is to send the exact inputs. Please include:
- The page you were on, for example the time card or the overtime calculator.
- The in, lunch and out times for each day, or download the CSV and attach it.
- The settings you chose: pay period, overtime rule, rounding, break and workweek start.
- The result you got, and the result you expected, with how you worked it out.
Two things that look like errors but are not. Overtime on the biweekly card is worked out for each week separately, so 80 hours across two weeks can still include overtime. And under the California rule, hours already paid as daily overtime are not counted again toward the weekly 40, so the weekly overtime line can be smaller than you might expect.
Rule changes
If your state has changed its overtime, meal break or rounding rules, send a link to the official source. We update the calculators and guides from primary sources, such as state labor department pages and the Code of Federal Regulations, rather than news articles.
Embedding the calculator
Payroll blogs, HR guides and staffing sites can embed the time card on their own pages for free. The code and instructions are on the embed page. If the embedded card does not fit your layout, email the page address and we will help.
What we cannot help with
We cannot give legal advice or take up a pay dispute with an employer. For a specific problem with your wages, contact your state labor department or the U.S. Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division, which handles complaints free of charge. We also cannot see or recover anything you entered in a calculator, because entries never leave your browser.
Suggestions for new calculators are welcome. Tell us what you are trying to work out and how you do it today, and we will look at whether Time Card Calculator can do it better.
